Summer Days
And In The Dark
The Freighted Height Of Colour

Summer Days

I'm sitting in the sunshine
Feeling pretty good today
The birds are flying by me
Happily on their way
The flowers are looking lovely
In the gardens full of bloom
The grass is being cut
With edges trimmed too much
Children playing in the street
Laughing and giggling, oh what a treat
Summer time is here for a while
No more baggy jumpers but t shirts in style
The warm breeze makes you feel at ease
No more mud and rainy days
Sweet smelling air makes you feel so good
Everyone seems to be in better moods
Instead of winter blues
There's something about summer days
Your face looks radiant in the haze
There's more smiling eyes everywhere
Sunshine gives us vitamin D
Instead of cold and flu oh what a ta do
Runny noses have gone away
Smiling faces are here to stay
Your windows are open all day long
Feeling warm inside instead of
Cold chills down your spine
The barbeques are lit once more
On summer nights that's for sure
The embers die out but the moon is out
And the stars sparkle in the sky once more
The days are longer and warm
And the cool breezes come out at dawn
Then a new day begins once more
Because it will be winter and
That's for sure make the most of summer days
And nights because around the
Corner are the cold winter nights

And In The Dark

and in the dark
I can hide inside my clothes

roll on my side
and cut it off

the music
drowns this

and I never wrote it down
and you will never remember

The Freighted Height Of Colour

the freighted height
of colour
another mans' words
out of my mouth
breath as individual
as fingertips
that melt like
snowflakes
and then again around
to colour
as pure as if
you imagined it
