This Thing Called "Chronic Daily Headache"
That Day
You're A Scar That Will Never Heal

This Thing Called "Chronic Daily Headache"

The pills they dish out, make it worse.
We pray for cures – get the reverse.
The pain is real: It is not “fake”.
It’s called “chronic daily headache”.

We try so hard to keep our jobs.
No easy feat, when your head throbs.
The pain begins once we’re awake.
It’s called “chronic daily headache”.

When we’re forced to stop work at last,
and go on benefits, they’re fast
to chase us up. Make no mistake.
It’s called “chronic daily headache”.

DSS interrogations:
not my favourite occasions.
The pain is real. Wish it were “fake”.
It’s called “chronic daily headache”.

That Day - (After The Meds Kick In!)

I noticed the sun today, I saw it's brightness
I closed my eyes and felt it's warmth
I breathed in deep to smell the air
I wanted to taste … life
And it felt good after so long
I praise myself for being here to embrace it
Skies are clearer and the clouds are no longer dull
They're light and fluffy
I hoped I'd see this day and it doesn't disappoint
And though it's one of many and storms are always on the horizon
My enemy within is for now dormant and I'm alive once more

You're A Scar That Will Never Heal

You're a scar that will never heal
You epitomise everything I love, everything I want and everything I do not deserve.
You make me feel syrupy, needed and clean
The ever-dependant matched with the ever-impressive
You're too good for me
Your blood runs through my hollow veins
Devotion makes you stay
You're so pretty when you confess your love,
You're so pretty when you, lie?
Apologies for my imperfections
God never blessed me
I'm sorry if I’m not your everything
I'm still adapting to the attention
Thoughts of you bind me in a world of my own
You free me from my pain and fears
No need to fear for my tender heart
I believe you, no need for tears
You mean so much to me
And now we are both free from hurt
Our love is deep, and everlasting
Sorry, I’m not good with words.
