| Don’t
Leave Me
The
room is quiet.
Cold and dark.
Loneliness.
Depravation.
Insanity creeping into sight.
Thoughts tumbling, mixing.
Rocking... backward... forward... backward... forward...
What is real? What is right? Am I here? Should I be?
The coldness starts at the finger tips and slowly seeps up into
the body, the blood stream sending the shudders
straight to the heart.
Movement.
A crack of light pierces through the curtain.
Standing.
Feet wobble.
Slowly edge toward the bright stream of outside light.
The world swirls round outside the barrier of the glass.
Peering with eyes half shut out into the energetic world.
Everything is moving, growing, living there.
A tear.
Hope slipping away.
A
noise.
Startled, goose bumps.
The familiar voice brings splashes of warmth rushing back.
The door swings open.
The room spills with bright lemon textured light.
Wide out stretched arms.
Many tears.
A run.
A jump.
A huge warm embrace.
Kisses.
Lots of frantic kisses.
Slowly the world outside begins to make sense.
Outside becomes welcoming.
Heat radiates from the heart and pumps out into every shaking,
clammy body part.
Eyes.
Big, beautiful, smiling, tear-filled eyes. Eyes you can get lost
in and never want to be found.
Safety. Security. Smiles.
Hands reach out to hold anything.
Happiness. Contentment.
Living. Growing.
Embrace. Happy.
Don't leave.
