A non-profit making organisation based in the UK dedicated to provide help, support and information to any adult who is suffering from past childhood abuse.
Survivors Swindon Supports male survivors of childhood sexual abuse and adult sexual assaults. Website has a wealth of information ranging from anger and guilt to managing nightmares, flashbacks and PTSD. Includes a comprehensive list of phonelines throughout the UK. Also provides training to helping agencys.
Survivors UK Supports, and provides resources for, men who have experienced any form of sexual violence. Runs london based support groups, national helpline. Website includes a list of understanding counsellors, personal experiences and a booklist

 

Addictions
AddAction UK site for an organisation supporting those with drug and/or alcohol problems. Sections include Info for parents, info for young people, a-z drug index and a listing of local services.
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Covers any addiction or dependance. Straightforward info and advice, esp on recovery. Links to support/recovery groups, personal stories, selected articles, newsletter archives, resources, information and help for those recovering
Turning Point National charity that helps those with addictions, mental health problems and/or learning disabilities. Site includes details of services in your area (inc residential, counselling, community support), info on the organisation (inc fundraising and reports), and useful resources

 

Alternative Psychiatry
Antipsychiatry Coalition A US site by people who feel they have been harmed by psychiatry, and their supporters. Includes some articles and links to survivor sites and sites for professionals
Critical Psychiatry Website Arguing against psychiatric practices/treatments - links to many other sites and e-mail discussion grps
MindFreedom A US based site 'where mutual support meets human rights activism'. Site contains info on their campaigns, news, a ‘mad market’ and a large links section.
The Icarus Project - Navigating The Space Between Brilliance & Madness "We are a network of people living with experiences that are commonly labeled as bipolar or other psychiatric conditions. Borderland Voices An arts and mental health group based in the Staffordshire Moorlands – website showcases art, photography, poetry & the lifestories of people involved with the group.
