Pale Reflections - An online community for everyone affected by eating disorders, helping people to reach out for support and find a safe haven for their thoughts and feelings. Includes info and personal experiences

Something Fishy - A site dedicated to raising awareness and providing support to those affected by the whole range of eating disorders. Includes helpful info on recovery and tips for loved ones

BBC Mental Health - Information on a range of topics, including: emotional wellbeing, diagnoses/disorders, coping strategies, caring/supporting & getting help

Chinese Mental Health Association - A national organisation that provides a diverse range of services with the aim of serving Chinese people who suffer from mental health related issues and problems. Including befriending, self-advocacy and a helpline

Hafal - Welsh's leading mental health charity. Includes information on recovery, their services and campaigns

Jewish Association for the Mentally Ill - A positive approach to mental health in the Jewish community. Includes information on services and useful resources

Mental Health Foundation - A leading UK charity that provides information, carries out research, campaigns and works to improve services for anyone affected by mental health problems, whatever their age and wherever they live

Mental Health Ireland - A national voluntary organisation aimed at promoting positive mental health and actively supporting those affected by mental ill health

Mind - UK mental health charity. Large site including leaflets (downloadable), information, a bookshop, details of campaigns, events, local mind associations and much more

Psych Central - Loads of info and resources including articles on symptoms, disorders, treatments etc. Also book reviews, FAQ, live chat and support forums

Psych Journey - A US site aiming to bridge the gap between mental health 'consumers' and service providers. Sections include spirituality, coping with stress, advocacy, caring etc. There's lots of good stuff here, but browse around as it's not always obvious where it is

Rethink: Severe Mental Illness - (Formally NSF) A big site which covers all severe mental illnesses, carers issues, tips on living with it etc. Also contains information on their local services, campaigns and events

Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health - Working to improve the quality of life of those affected by mental ill health, focussing primarily on research and influencing policy. They place particular emphasis on employment and the criminal justice system

Spiritual Crisis Network - Providing support and information to those affected by a spiritual crisis, as well as those supporting them (both friends and professionals). Includes: 'What it is' and 'What helps'

Scottish Association For Mental Health - Information about the organisation, claiming benefits, your rights, a list of publications, briefings and campaigns, the point & click magazine, services available and resources

Hyper Guide To The Mental Health Act - A basic guide to the 1983 Mental Health Act

INQEST - A charity that provides a free advice service to bereaved people on contentious deaths and their investigation with a particular focus on deaths in custody. Casework also informs our research, parliamentary, campaigning and policy work

Liberty - Campaigns to protect basic rights and freedoms of everyone through the courts, in Parliament and in the wider community. Also provide a free advice and information

Mental Health Act 2007 - An overview of the new mental health act published by the Department of Health

Mental Health Act Commission - 'Safeguarding the interests of all people detained under the Mental Health Act'. Website includes guidance, publications and an annual report of visits to individual service providers (e.g. mental health trusts)

Mental Health Tribunals Service - Contains information about the tribunals process for patients, carers/family members and professionals.
